Did you know National Boss's Day has State Farm roots?

The story goes all the way back to 1958, when Patricia Bays Haroski, an employee at State Farm Insurance in Illinois, had an idea.

She wanted to recognize the hard work and dedication of great bosses, starting with her own father, who also happened to be her boss!

She chose October 16—her father's birthday—and registered National Boss's Day. By 1962, the occasion had received official recognition in Illinois.

Nearly 70 years later, we're still celebrating the idea that inspired it: great leadership deserves appreciation, and strong relationships make great workplaces.

As a State Farm agency, we think that's a pretty neat piece of our history! ❤️

Happy National Boss's Day to the leaders who encourage, challenge, support, and inspire the people around them!
