🎉 Celebrating 13 Years of Ashley Thomas! 🎉

For 13 years, Ashley Thomas has been such a special part of the Alabama Bankers Association team, and we are so thankful for the heart she brings to everything she does.

As our Vice President, Professional and Leadership Development, Ashley has a gift for making people feel supported, valued and encouraged. She cares deeply about our members and is always looking for ways to help them grow; both professionally and personally.

One of Ashley’s greatest contributions is the impact she is making on the next generation of banking leaders. Through the programs she leads and the relationships she builds, she is helping shape the future of our industry, one leader at a time.

We’ve watched Ashley pour 13 years of knowledge, dedication, encouragement and genuine care into ABA and the people we serve. We are incredibly grateful for all she does for our members, our team and the future of Alabama banking.

The backpacks are packed. The pencils are sharpened. The first-day-of-school pictures are making their way across our feeds. And while our Alabama Banking School students aren’t heading back to class quite yet, we’re already counting down to October 18–23, 2026!

Because at 🟦🟦🔵 Alabama Banking School, “back to school” means more than going back to the classroom. It means reconnecting with banking friends, learning from industry leaders, building relationships, and investing in the future of Alabama banking.

So while everyone else is sharing their first day of school posts, we’ll be over here getting ready for Banking School season. 🏦🎓 October will be here before we know it, and we would love to have you in the class of 2028!

Day ✌🏼 is about to be underway at the CEO, Bank Exec & Directors’ Conference!

Yesterday was a full day of learning, connection, and conversations about the issues shaping the future of banking. From cybersecurity and bank security to generational banking, growth strategies, regulatory updates, industry challenges, and the 2026 political landscape, our attendees gained valuable insights to take back to their institutions and communities.

Today, we’re looking forward to another great day of meaningful conversations and fresh perspectives as we continue exploring the opportunities and challenges ahead for Alabama’s banking industry.

Lights, camera, action! 🎥

We were pleased to welcome Alabama Public Television to our annual CEO, Bank Exec & Directors’ conference this afternoon as they interviewed our President & CEO, Scott Latham; ABA Board Chairman, Charlie Williams; and Past Chairman, Macke Mauldin, for an upcoming episode of 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘭 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 with host Todd Stacy.

The conversations explored the reason why we hold this event every year for our banks; the governance, safety, and soundness of Alabama's banking industry, as well as the importance of maintaining strong relationships and ongoing dialogue with regulators and policymakers in Washington, D.C. As the financial services landscape continues to evolve, those conversations are essential to ensuring Alabama's banks remain strong, responsive, and well-positioned to serve their customers and communities.

Cheers to 9 Years, Peyton!

This month we’re celebrating a very special milestone: Peyton Headley’s 9th work anniversary with the Alabama Bankers Association!

Many of our members may remember Peyton as the friendly first face and voice they encountered when connecting with the ABA. Over the years, she has grown into her current role as Director of Creative Services, where her talent, innovation, and dedication continue to make a tremendous impact on our association.

Peyton’s creativity brings our ideas to life, her photography captures some of our most memorable moments, and her technology expertise keeps us moving forward. As the youngest member of our team, she’s also become our go-to guide for navigating new tools and technology, helping the rest of us stay current in an ever-changing digital world.

We are grateful for Peyton’s nine years of service, her countless contributions, and the energy, creativity, and enthusiasm she brings to the ABA every day.
