🚲 Illinois E-bike Owners — Important Update Coming July 1st

A new Illinois law affecting certain e-bikes, e-scooters, and similar devices is set to take effect on July 1, with additional registration and insurance requirements beginning January 1, 2027.

The law is mainly focused on higher-speed electronic bikes and scooters (those exceeding 28 mph), and depending on the type of e-bike, owners may eventually need:

✔️ Registration & license plates ($151 annually)
✔️ Insurance coverage
✔️ A valid driver’s license

With e-bikes becoming more common, many families may not realize these changes could affect them.

If you or someone in your household owns an e-bike and you’re unsure whether it may require coverage in the future, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help answer questions, review options, and make sure you understand what may apply to your situation.

We’re proud to continue supporting the "Safe Decisions" program at Oswego High School for the 2026-2027 school year, our 6th year bringing the program to OHS.

As an Oswego High School alum, this partnership means a lot to me personally. Safe Decisions helps educate students about the dangers of distracted driving and encourages smart, responsible choices behind the wheel.

We’re honored to have been told that we are now the longest-tenured agency partner in the program. Supporting initiatives that help keep young drivers — and our community — safer is something we truly believe in.

Thank you to Oswego High School and everyone involved in making this program possible. We’re grateful to be a part of it year after year.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.

We’re also especially grateful to have veterans on our team, Michelle and Angel, who continue to serve others in our community every day with dedication, integrity, and heart. Thank you for your service — both in uniform and beyond.

As we spend time with family and friends today, let us remember the true meaning of Memorial Day and the freedoms made possible by those who gave everything for our nation.

Soaking up our last moments of sun in Cancun after a great Embrace Conference with Farmers Insurance. Coming home reenergized with new ideas from my fellow agents to implement in our office.
