Last night was a special evening at Oswego High School. We were honored to present our donation in support of the school’s athletic department and the Safe Decisions program for the sixth consecutive year.

Safe Decisions is an important program that helps educate students about the dangers of distracted driving and the importance of making safe choices behind the wheel. As an insurance agency, helping promote safe driving is something we truly believe in.

But for us, this sponsorship is about more than business. As an Oswego High School alumnus, giving back to the school and community that helped shape me is incredibly meaningful. We feel privileged and honored to continue supporting these students and the programs that make a difference in their lives.

The beautiful evening, Friday night lights, and the opportunity to reconnect with so many of my former teachers made last night even more special.

A big thank-you to Oswego High School and Farmers Insurance for allowing us to be part of such a great program. We are proud to support our Panthers and look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.

Hard to believe it has been 25 years since the world changed forever. 9/11 doesn’t pass without me reading this voicemail from Brian Sweeney to his wife, Julie. Staring death in the face and all Brian is thinking of is letting his people know that he loves them, that he wants them to move on with their lives and do good things. What a special person. Whether it’s Brian, Welles Crowther or the many police officers, fire fighters and paramedics, a lot of heroes were made that day. May we never forget.

Just a heads up for anyone who uses 47 through Sugar Grove.

Significant traffic back-ups are expected as Illinois Route 47 is being completely closed in Sugar Grove on Sept. 3 as workers repair the bridge carrying U.S. Route 30 overhead. Bridge repairs should be finished by late September.

Beautiful day for the annual Joseph M. Sweeney “Roast out Sarcoma” golf outing. The Sweeney family does it all first-class and as Joe says “we’re people helping people”. Couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it again this year and always great to play with my Dad.
