Ok I’m switching it up a little. Talking to my real estate property managers. I’m here to tell you QBO is not your friend if you have multiple properties.

What is? Stessa. It’s literally made for rental properties.

So instead of forcing the system to work, it just… does.

Stessa:
• tracks income & expenses by property automatically
• gives you clean, real-time numbers
• organizes everything in a way that actually makes sense for real estate

No overcomplicating it.

Bottom line:
If you’re managing properties, you don’t need to “make” a system work.

You need one that already does.

If you’re using QBO right now and it feels harder than it should be… yeah, that’s not just you.

Best part? It’s FREE for the essential plan! If you want to upgrade well then yes you have to pay. Plus you can add your bookkeeper as well😊

⚠️ S-Corp Owners: Read This Before You Panic About the Deadline ⚠️

If you own a home service business or you’re a woman running your own company, you’ve probably heard that the S-Corp tax filing deadline is next week for the S-Corporation Tax Return (Form 1120-S).

Cue the stress… 😬

But here’s something many small business owners don’t realize:

👉 Just because the deadline is here doesn’t mean you have to file right now.

Extensions exist for a reason, and many responsible business owners use them every year. Filing an extension simply means you’re giving your financial team the time needed to make sure everything is accurate, clean, and done right.

Common Reasons Businesses File Extensions

✔️ You’re still waiting on important documents
✔️ Your books need final cleanup or reconciliation
✔️ You had a busy season and bookkeeping fell behind
✔️ Your accountant or bookkeeper needs time to review everything
✔️ You want to make sure you’re maximizing deductions and strategy

Rushing a return can cost you more than waiting a little longer to do it correctly.

Friendly Reminder From a Bookkeeper 👋

We’re not just here during tax season.

A good bookkeeper supports your business all year long by:
📊 Keeping your financials organized
📈 Helping you understand your numbers
🧾 Making tax season smoother
💡 Helping you make smarter business decisions

When your books are maintained consistently, tax deadlines become much less stressful.

So if the deadline is making you panic, take a breath. Extensions are normal, and your financial team is here to help guide you through it.

✨ Bookkeepers don’t just show up in March — we support your business all year.

This past week has been the toughest. Not because of tax season but because life decided it was getting a little too easy. My husband had an ER trip and surgery and then my daughter fractured her arm. One thing though is that I am grateful for family and friends that helped me stay sane! Also grateful for my clients that understood and allowed me to take care of my family❤️

📊 Before You File Your Taxes… Check Your Books

Most business owners don’t overpay taxes because they made too much money.
They overpay because their bookkeeping isn’t accurate.

Your tax preparer files based on the numbers you provide.
Your bookkeeper makes sure those numbers are correct and optimized.

What Happens When Books Aren’t Reviewed

🚩 Missed deductions (subscriptions, mileage, fees, equipment)
🚩 Loans or transfers counted as income
🚩 Personal & business expenses mixed together
🚩 Inflated profit → higher tax bill
🚩 Paying taxes on money you never actually kept

What a Pre-Filing Book Review Does

✔ Reconciles bank & credit card accounts
✔ Cleans up uncategorized transactions
✔ Maximizes deductions
✔ Fixes balance sheet errors
✔ Reduces audit risk
✔ Helps lower taxable income legally

Bookkeeping tells the story.
Taxes finalize the outcome.

If the story is wrong… the ending is expensive.

💬 Have your books reviewed before filing!
