Morning - About to start my day but my heart is heavy so here we go! 😁
Over the past few weeks I have heard/had conversations swirling around sexuality and abortion. (BTW: I 😡😡😡😡 presidential elections/platforms!!!). I have witnessed with my own eyes and ears Christians scream and declare things loudly and boldly animated that it shook me to my core.
I was given a book three years ago that I set aside because of the title. Gentle & Lowly, 😶(those words were not exciting to me at the time 🤣) and started reading about the heart of Jesus. I needed to be reminded of His heart and not focus on some of His followers's words and actions.
I did not fully come to Christ until 2018, because of the church experiences I had, I thought he was Mean, Angry, Unforgiving, and Judgmental and I wanted NOTHING to do with those characteristics. I fought long and hard and he waiting for me with open arms.
My heartfelt, soul bearing, anguished prayer is before speaking your beliefs and feelings, especially on "political platforms" (which is NOT necessarily the heart the candidate) consider doing it Gently and Lowly. If our words turn people away from Christ, even in an election year, then what have we accomplished.
When I finally understood in 2018 that Jesus was Agape Love, I have been all in trying to be better everyday. (Ya'll know that is a challenge, but he gives me a chance to be better every morning🙏🏽😁)
Ya'll let's try to let His Love shine through at all times. Even in a presidential election year🥹🥹
