The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) from October 15 to December 7 is now in full swing! For your information, the AEP is applicable only to Medicare Beneficiaries who are currently insured with a Medicare Advantage (MA) or Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug (MA-PD) plan (Part C or Parts C & D of Medicare) comprising of HMOs and PPOs. The AEP is also applicable to those who have stand-alone Prescription Drug Plans (PDP)
All insurance carriers are required to send out Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC) to their members about the last week of September to notify you of the modifications in your plan. It is my advice to you to read the ANOC corresponding to your plan so you will not be surprised to see drastic increases in your PDP premiums starting Jan 1 and by then, it will be too late to change plans, so you are stuck with the higher premiums for one year. If you discarded your ANOC or can't find it, you may call me and I'll let you know what yours looks like.
New benefits are available every new year. But these benefits are not embedded in every plan or available with every carrier. Not all benefits are available for every beneficiary. You have to qualify for some of them. Be mindful that some benefits, if you choose them have tradeoffs in the backend, like higher copays for hospitalization and other services, and higher overall out-of-pocket expenses if you get sick, which your agents usually conceal from you. Those of you who have the older plans from years ago, please call me, so I can upgrade your plan to include the new benefits, where applicable.
Don't be left out. Call, text, or email me today to learn more about the latest technology and innovations and to see if you qualify.
