In 1980, Vern Starr opened a Farm Bureau Insurance agency named Starr Insurance Agency. The agency was built on 5 basic principals; hard work, treat clients like family, properly educate the community on insurance options, offer superior customer service, and focus on always giving back to the community of Monroe. Over 30 years later nothing has changed. In 2010 Vern’s son Ben Starr (agent since 2
003) and daughter-in-law Kelsey Starr (agent since 2009) purchased the agency intent on keeping those same 5 basic principals alive. “When we set our agency goals for the year the first thing we discuss is our community giveback. Monroe does so much to support us, it only seems right to make the community a priority,” says Ben Starr. Since acquiring the agency, Ben and Kelsey have incorporated the agency and formed Starr Insurance Agency Inc. to provide a solid foundation for growth and position themselves for many years in Monroe. “Monroe is our home.” says Kelsey. “It is a rare opportunity to drive around your home city each day and see how many businesses and families we personally help protect.”
