Kirby Senior Health Agency and Robin Kirby will be at the 2024 Morehouse May Madness Street Festival on May 4. They will be set-up with flyers, giveaways, business cards, and a spin the wheel to win prizes. Robin is an Independent Medicare Advisor. They are from Bonita, Louisiana.

We had fun today hosting Bingo at the Morehouse Council on Aging this morning with the seniors! I think they had fun too with all the prizes they left home with! I can't wait to host again next month. They also serve lunch Monday - Friday at 11:00 for the seniors for only $3 for the meal, you can't beat that!

I know trying to navigate Medicare Insurance can be confusing and scary. I can help you make the right decision for what is best for your situation. Are you wondering what you need to know and what steps you need to take to be prepared for Medicare? Below is a list of things that will help you prepare for what you need to do before you turn 65.

*Do you need to enroll in Medicare once you turn 65? YOU DO:
- If you are covered by your or your spouse’s retiree plan
- If you are covered by COBRA insurance
- If you are with an Affordable Care Act Plan
- If you are on an insurance plan that has 19 employees or less

*If you are on an insurance plan that has 20 or more employees, it is good to make a comparison between premiums and deductibles to determine if Medicare makes financial sense versus staying on the group plan.

*You have Enrollment options:
- Auto enrollment for those receiving a Social Security Check
- Self enrollment for those not receiving a Social Security Check by going online to https://www.ssa.gov/medicare/sign-up or stopping by your local Social Security Office.

It’s important to know your options and make informed decisions. Whether you need to enroll, may want to enroll, or shouldn’t enroll, understanding your situation is crucial! Additionally, choosing between a supplemental plan or an advantage plan is a big decision that should be made carefully.
