Our community has been through a lot over the last few days. Many of our small, locally owned businesses were forced to close because of the power outage, and some had to throw away thousands of dollars worth of food and inventory.

As power is restored and businesses begin reopening, let’s show them just how much this community cares. Skip the big chains this week and choose local whenever you can. Grab a coffee, order dinner, pick up dessert, shop a local boutique, or support a family-owned business in any way you can.

The truth is, small businesses need our support all year long—but right now, they need it more than ever.

Dave truly embodies the spirit of this community. He has spent so much of his life caring for others with kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Now, as he undergoes treatment, we're asking everyone to keep him in your thoughts and prayers ❤️

The entire Monroe Charter Township Fire Department joins together in sending love, support, and prayers to our brother, Capt. Dave Nadeau, and his family during this challenging time. Capt. Nadeau, along with seven firefighters from our department, selflessly traveled to New York to provide assistance in the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy. Sadly, Capt. Nadeau has been diagnosed with a cancer related to the heroic efforts he made during that fateful event. We wish him strength, resilience, and a speedy recovery as he undergoes treatment.
