The Monroe High Construction classes have been busy busy. This year we thought we would expand our work and start the year off with working on the CTE storage building that is located at MHS. This building will be used by many of the CTE programs. This building was made available by our great sponsors who work with the Trojan Build program. A huge thank you to all our sponsors.

Students from Mr. Zorn's welding classes and Bells' and Marches's Construction classes have been working hard on cutting, bending, placing, and tying over 800 feet of 5/8'' rebar for the foundation. Students had to make the ties and have all the rebar in before the footer was placed. Once the footer was in we moved our work to start Trojan Build #6. This year's house will have 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths with an open and split ranch concept. Students have been working in the fresh morning light, cold, and some wet days but we are working hard to get TB #6 under roof before our winter weather arrives. We Build Monroe!

Here we go 23-24 Trojan Build #5!!!!.

Students are off to a good start this year. Our crew has been working very hard in the hot, the cold, the wet, and the dark mornings. None of that has stopped them from moving forward on this year's build. This year we are back to a ranch with a full basement. This year's home will have 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. We have some really cool ceilings in this year's home with some dormer windows that bring even more light into a bright and spacious living room. Our kitchen as always will be large and in charge with a newer big window at the sink this year. This year we are also pushing to finish a large rec room and an additional bedroom in the basement. There is still a huge amount of storage for the future homeowners for TB5. Thank you to all the students for all your hard work and for learning about many of the trades in the construction industry.

A big thank you to StoneCo Denniston Quarry for all our stone products this year.
Thank you to Carrier for supplying our furnace, Air conditioner, and Hot water system this year. Your Products are the best to have.
Thank you to Local 671 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. Thank you Justin Mcmanaway for working with our students and teaching them a little bit about your industry.
Thank you Sieb for all your hard work getting the HVAC roughed in this year.
Thank you Carter Lumber. you guys are always on time with great lumber products and offer assistance whenever I need it. Thank you, Jerry and Jay.
Thank you to Great Lakes Electric, Tim Thoma, Shaun Gotha, and Machacek Concrete for all your work on this year's home as well. This really is a team effort and we thank you for all your hard work as well.

I will post soon as we are wrapping up all our rough-in stages and take pictures right before we are ready for insulation.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the parents of this year's crew. This is not an easy class. Thank you for your support with your child as they learn and work on this year's project.

Take care everyone and have a great Thanksgiving.

We made it to the finish line for Trojan Build #4. These students this year have learned so much and I couldn't be more proud of them and all their accomplishments and skill-building. Since the last post, students finished up with drywall, flooring, painting, building cabinets, installing trim throughout the house, and installing and cutting tile in both the Master Bath area but as well in the Kitchen. Students have worked on landscaping, setting stone veneer, finishing up with siding, and helping out with all the finishing trades subcontractors at the home. This program is a huge success because of our students here at Monroe High School. We have many students entering apprenticeships as well as construction mang programs. It's great to see so many students come back and tell their stories as they have continued in the construction industry in one way or another. Keep grinding Trojans.
We are definitely blessed to have such great partners to work with us on these builds. All our sponsors help us in so many ways. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts to be with us. Here is a list of our sponsors this year:

It's been a great year but it's time to recharge the batteries and get ready for TB #5. We have the blueprint set for Trojan Build #5 already in place and the groundwork is being scheduled for the end of the summer for next year's Trojan Build group to start at the beginning of the school year. Thank you all for your support in this program.
