TRAFFIC ADVISORY - FULL CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND STATE ROUTE 99 IN MODESTO – SEPT. 22-24, 2021
OVERNIGHT HIGHWAY CLOSURES OF SOUTHBOUND SR-99
FROM KANSAS AVENUE TO MAZE BOULEVARD
STANISLAUS COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform full closures of southbound (only) State Route 99 (SR-99) as construction work continues on the SR-132 West Expressway Project in Modesto.
All northbound lanes of SR-99 will remain open during this work.
Work will occur as follows;
• Full closure of southbound SR-99 from Kansas Avenue to Maze Boulevard beginning at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, until 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021.
• Full closure of southbound SR-99 from Kansas Avenue to Maze Boulevard beginning at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, until 5:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021.
DETOUR INFO:
Southbound motorists will be directed to exit SR-99 at Kansas Avenue (Exit 227), and take Kansas Avenue east to 8th Street, to Washington Street, to 7th Street, to L Street, to 5th Street, and use the on-ramp at G Street to return to southbound SR-99.
Motorists should expect 15-minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.
This work is part of the SR-132 West Expressway Project that will construct a new, 4-lane expressway on a new alignment from Dakota Avenue to SR-99.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
