From May to October, burning yard waste and debris is banned in Mobile County to protect air quality and reduce harmful ozone and fine particles, as outlined by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). This seasonal burn ban is not the same as drought-related burn bans — it’s about keeping our air clean and our community healthy.

🚫 What’s banned?
Burning wood, brush, yard debris.
Burning construction or land-clearing waste.

✅ Better alternatives:
Compost yard waste.
Use leaves and clippings as mulch to enrich your garden and save water.
