NEW THIS YEAR: Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Seminars!

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new educational seminar focused specifically on Medicare Supplement, also known as Medigap, plans.

Join Diane Hellman for an informative presentation covering:
- How Medicare Supplement plans work with Original Medicare
- The differences between standardized Medigap plans
- Examples of pricing from different insurance companies
- Situations when guaranteed issue rights may apply (such as your Medicare Advantage plan terminating)

These seminars are a great opportunity for anyone who currently has a Medicare Supplement plan, is considering one for the future, or simply wants to better understand how Medigap works.

They may be especially helpful for individuals whose Medicare Advantage plan is ending or no longer being offered in their area. In this situation, and other select situations, you will qualify for guaranteed issue rights for specific Medicare Supplement plans, meaning an insurance company cannot deny you an eligible policy based on your health history.

Outside of your initial Medicare enrollment period (based on your Part B enrollment date) and certain qualifying situations, Medicare Supplement applications will require medical underwriting and acceptance is not guaranteed.

If you have received a termination or non-renewal notice from your Medicare Advantage plan, please bring it with you. Your individual eligibility and available options can vary, and our team can help you understand what will apply to your situation.

Walk-In Days Are Back!
We received wonderful feedback about the walk-in days we offered last year, so we are bringing them back on a much more regular basis this AEP!

Walk-in days are first-come, first-served and allow current clients to stop by our office for help without a scheduled appointment. They are especially helpful for questions or plan reviews that may not require a full one-hour appointment.

We will continue adding walk-in opportunities throughout the enrollment period, so please check our website and Community Events Calendar regularly for updated dates.

If you have a stand-alone Part D prescription drug plan, we especially encourage you to consider a walk-in day first.

By using seminars and walk-in days whenever possible, we can keep appointment availability open for clients with situations that truly require a longer, one-on-one meeting.

Did you receive a notice that your Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D plan will not be offered in 2027? First, don’t panic. You have options, and our team is here to help.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: KEEP YOUR TERMINATION OR NON-RENEWAL LETTER!
This notice will be needed as proof that your coverage is ending when enrolling in new coverage or using certain Medicare or Medigap protections.

Your letter may direct you to contact your current insurance company, but remember that an individual carrier can only discuss its own plans. As an independent agency, Hellman Insurance Agency can help you compare options from multiple carriers based on your medications, providers, coverage needs, and budget.

You will also qualify for a Special Enrollment Period beyond the regular December 7th AEP deadline, so you do have additional time to review your options. A great place to start is by attending one of our seminars throughout the Annual Enrollment Period. If you still need individualized help afterward, a licensed agent can answer questions, schedule an appointment, or assist you during one of our walk-in days. Please bring your termination or non-renewal letter with you!
