Powers of attorney for financial decisions, and the PoA for healthcare decisions are boring - until you need one. If you've ever tried to care for a friend or loved one without it, you know. Here's a nice primer from an area library: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Plcg9elkrVc
We're fortunate to have the Center for Practical Bioethics in KC who offers the PoA form for healthcare decisions and the living will form free: https://www.practicalbioethics.org/featured-resources/caring-conversations/
Many states, including Kansas and Missouri, have free powers of attorney forms for financial decisions, but an attorney's advice on those can be valuable. You don't want to give an agent rights without careful thought.
The Caring Conversations® materials will guide individuals and families through the advance care planning process with a highly individualized focus. The materials include forms for documenting who can speak for you and what treatment preferences you may have.
