After weeks of asking to go to work with Dad (Rick Nystrand), today was finally the day.

He woke up on a mission, got dressed all by himself, and announced he was going to work.

The day’s agenda included visiting a client building, attending a carrier meeting, and conducting extensive snack quality control. Judging by the popcorn trail on the floor, I’d say the audit was a success.

The next generation of insurance is already in training. You’ve got to keep the talent pipeline full!

We had a great day out on the course with the Interra Credit Union Commercial and Ag Lending teams for a clay shoot filled with friendly competition, camaraderie, and a whole lot of fun.

More importantly, the event brought local businesses, partners, and community members together to support a meaningful cause. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who participated, sponsored, and donated, funds were raised for FreedomSystem.org, an organization helping Veterans transition back into civilian life through camaraderie programs and classes designed to provide tools for managing PTSD symptoms and anxiety.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to come together, have some fun, and support a cause that makes a difference for our Veterans.

We were proud to support the 2026 CAPS & Maple City Annual Gala on Friday, August 21, at Wellfield Botanic Gardens by sponsoring a table for this meaningful evening.

Fueled by an abiding love for coffee, Karen is our resident morning person! She's always greeting the day, and all of us, with a smile and her signature quick wit. When she’s not serving her family, you can find her enjoying time with her grandkids, welcoming guests into her home, or preparing meals for those in need. Karen’s also deeply involved in her church and active in several small groups.
