🎥 Why do summer programs matter?

When school is out, young people still need safe spaces, positive role models, and opportunities to grow. That's why summer programming is so important.

In this video, youth and educators from Camden High School share their perspectives on how summer programs provide structure, mentorship, meaningful experiences, and a supportive community for young people. These opportunities help youth stay engaged, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and create positive pathways for their future.

At Build Wealth MN, we believe every young person deserves access to programs that invest in their success, not just during the school year, but all year long.

Build Wealth MN's HE Builds and SHE Builds summer programs begin June 23, and we're excited to help youth develop leadership skills, build confidence, explore personal growth, and connect with their community.

We're getting ready for an incredible summer!

One of the first tools every participant will receive is their very own Youth Stabilization Program journal. Throughout the summer, youth will use these journals to reflect on their experiences, set goals, document their growth, and explore who they are becoming as leaders.

At Build Wealth MN, we believe growth happens when young people have space to think, process, and dream. These journals will help participants track their progress, celebrate their successes, work through challenges, and build confidence in themselves along the way.

As we prepare materials and finalize details for our summer programs, we're reminded that every notebook, activity, and conversation is part of creating opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and thrive.

Building generational wealth starts with conversations many of us were never taught to have. 🖤

One powerful tool families can use is a 529 Plan: a savings account designed to help youth prepare for future education expenses like college, trade school, certifications, and more.

Financial literacy is more than budgeting. It’s about helping young people and families understand long-term wealth-building tools, ownership, saving, and planning for the future.

Too often, communities are left out of conversations about investing and generational wealth. At Build Wealth MN, we believe our youth deserve access to that knowledge early so they can make informed decisions and create opportunities for themselves and future generations.

That’s why programs like HE Builds & SHE Builds matter. Through mentorship, financial literacy, leadership development, and real conversations about future goals, we’re helping youth build confidence and prepare for life beyond the classroom.
