The Core Cookie champion has been crowned!

Our Grand Finale featured three contenders: Jesse Hodapp’s Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie, Jack Welchlin’s Coffee Macaron with Chocolate Ganache, and Jeff King’s Iced Lemon Cookie.

After one final taste test, Jack took home the title of Core Cookie Champion!

While Jack wins the bragging rights, Jesse’s Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie will be featured in our cookie sale! With macarons notoriously tricky to get right (especially when making hundreds of them), we decided to leave those to the experts.

Best of all, 100% of the proceeds from our cookie sale will benefit the Peace House in Minneapolis, helping provide essential resources for people experiencing homelessness.

We’ll share details soon on how you can donate and order some of Jesse’s Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies!

That’s a wrap on our LAST Insurance Intel of 2026! 🎉

We’re incredibly grateful to all the advisors who joined us last week for two days of learning, connecting, and exploring how effective risk management strategies can help improve client outcomes.

Last week, advisors joined us at our Minneapolis office for Planner's Pathway, an immersive training program developed with CFPs®, estate attorneys, and CPAs, and presented by Advanced Planning Educational Group.

Over three days, attendees built a structured, repeatable approach to comprehensive financial planning, connecting all five key segments and leaving with processes they can put to work in their practices right away.

We were also honored to celebrate the advisors who earned a spot in our Hall of Fame:

COOKIE CONTEST UPDATE: THE GRAND FINALE LINEUP IS SET!

Week 3 brought an incredible battle of the bakers, with Jeff King’s iced lemon cookie beating out Dan Slater’s caramel white chocolate chip and Tim Foley’s snickerdoodle.

With all three rounds complete, our Grand Finale lineup is officially locked in:
- Round 1 Champion: Jesse Hodapp
- Round 2 Champion: Jack Welchlin
- Round 3 Champion: Jeff King

These three baking titans will face off on Friday, October 9th to determine who takes home the crown and which recipe becomes the official Core Cookie!

Remember, the winning cookie will be sold throughout October, with proceeds going toward charity. The countdown is on!

The plot thickens in the Core Income Advisors kitchen!

The second chapter of our cookie competition is officially complete, and Jack Welchlin rose to the occasion to secure the Round 2 victory with his Macarons. He'll join Jesse Hodapp, our Round 1 champion, in the Grand Finale.

The competition was fierce, with Jack taking the win over two strong contenders: Penny Mohnkern’s Chocolate Chip Cookie and Shane Trentor's Peanut Butter & Jelly Cookie.

Our third round THIS FRIDAY will determine the last competitor to join them on the bakery battleground. Who will take Week 3 and earn a shot at the Grand Finale?
