7VetsInsurance

7VetsInsurance Expertise in Medicare/Health/Life/Disability and Long Term Care I come to you with 18 years of experience in the insurance industry.

I work independently of any insurance company and answer to my clients – not a company. I base my recommendations on a custom fit plan designed for you and your needs. Since my focus is on tailoring a plan for you and your needs, I may recommend one insurance carrier for you and another plan/carrier for your friend or significant other. You will get cookie cutter advice from me. My goal is to deve

lop a long-term relationship with my clients by offering straight answers to your questions. Occasionally the truth about insurance isn’t easy to hear, but I will endeavor to provide you with understandable answers so that you can make informed decisions. Let’s face it, emergencies can happen at all hours of the day and night. Clients often have questions about their coverages during those emergency situations. I offer 24 hour a day, 7 days a week office hours to stand beside you during your emergencies. I served 28 years in the US Army. It was during my service I discovered my love for teaching. Now I teach my clients how to navigate the complex world of insurance. It gives me purpose and focus to shed light upon a topic that is often confusing. I care about your understanding. I care that you understand the subject. I care that you are getting the peace of mind we all seek. I am a truth broker not an insurance broker.

I over heard one this morning calling my father, asked him for his phone and told this scam artist that he was violating Federal Law and this clown could not hang up the phone quick enough!! Be forearmed and forewarned!!

If you have an asset - home, business, commercial building, etc... and your gain is a six digit number be wary of capital gains tax. As an example, MANY people have owned their homes for more than 20 years and are not aware until after they sell they will be handed a capital tax bill. There are legal ways to maneuver around that tax bill. If you need assistance or want to discuss options please contact my office.

Although they were born on the same day, Medicare and Medicaid are not identical twins. And even though they've been around for 55 years, many people still confuse these two government-backed health care programs.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health coverage to those age 65 and older, or to those under 65 who have a disability, with no regard to personal income.

Medicaid is a combined state and federal program that provides health coverage to those who have a very low income, regardless of age.

I'd love to help you figure out which one is best for you.

If you have coverage through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and are eligible for Medicare, you’re not required to enroll. But you may have good reasons to do so. The VA itself strongly recommends that veterans with VA health care also enroll in Medicare Parts A and B as soon as they become eligible.

Here’s why:

VA health coverage isn’t set in stone and isn’t the same for everyone.
Having both Medicare and VA benefits greatly widens your coverage.
You may be subject to penalties in the future.

Annuities are insurance contracts that provide a fixed income stream for a person’s lifetime or a specified period of time. An annuity can be purchased with a lump sum or a series of payments and begin paying out almost immediately or at some point in the future. Annuities are often used as a way to fund retirement.

Annuities can be optimized for income or long-term growth, but they are not short-term investment strategies. These products appeal to people whose objectives include long-term financial security, retirement income, diversification and principal preservation.

Getting started is as easy as contacting me now!

We will listen and be able to guide you to an annuity that will allow you to reach your goals.

Should you buy long-term care insurance or save up to self-insure? There are many trade-offs to consider. And, surprise: It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Your strategy over the years can change, depending on your needs and your finances.

The decision on whether to buy long-term care insurance vs. self-insuring is a question many clients ask. If you can afford to self-insure based on your planning, then the choice boils down to whether you would like to retain the risk or share the risk with an insurance company. The goal would be to take the worst-case scenario off the table, if possible.

It is important to determine what you would like to cover and what you can afford to pay on premiums. Since you have no idea of what the future holds for you, and there are many variables and unknowns.

It might be hard to imagine now, but chances are you’ll need some help taking care of yourself later in life.

The big question is: How will you pay for it?

Buying long-term care insurance is one way to prepare. Long-term care refers to a host of services that aren’t covered by regular health insurance. This includes assistance with routine daily activities, like bathing, dressing, or getting in and out of bed.

A long-term care insurance policy helps cover the costs of that care when you have a chronic medical condition, a disability, or a disorder such as Alzheimer’s disease. Most policies will reimburse you for care given in a variety of places, such as:

Your home.
A nursing home.
An assisted living facility.
An adult day care center.

Considering long-term care costs is an important part of any long-range financial plan, especially in your 50s and beyond. Waiting until you need care to buy coverage isn’t an option. You won’t qualify for long-term care insurance if you already have a debilitating condition. Most people with long-term care insurance buy it in their mid-50s to mid-60s.

Whether long-term care insurance is the right choice depends on your situation and preferences.

Disability insurance provides partial income so you can pay your bills if you get too sick or injured to work. Disability happens to more people, more often than you may think. In fact, more disabilities are caused by illness than injury, including common conditions like heart disease and arthritis, and most disabilities are not covered by Workman’s Compensation.

There are two main types of disability insurance — short-term and long-term coverage. Both replace a portion of your monthly base salary up to a cap, such as $10,000, during disability. Some long-term policies pay for additional services, such as training to return to the workforce.

Consider buying a policy if you don’t have any or enough disability coverage at work or are self-employed. Employer-sponsored disability insurance usually pays only a portion of your base salary, up to a cap. It’s a good idea to supplement that coverage if your salary far exceeds the cap or you depend on bonuses or commissions.

When we think about the importance of health insurance, our mind often goes to the worst-case scenario. Certainly, insurance is critical in the case of a serious injury or illness. Fixing a broken leg can cost $7,500, and a three-day hospital stay can run you $30,000. The price only climbs for more serious illnesses such as cancer — care can often total hundreds of thousands of dollars.

When you purchase health insurance, you start benefiting immediately. Even if your plan has a deductible — the out-of-pocket amount you need to pay before your coverage fully kicks in — you will pay significantly less for office visits than you would without insurance, assuming the health care providers you see are within your network. Some plans also offer reduced-price generic drugs and free disease management programs. Plus, having health coverage can put you in a better position to prevent or spot difficult — and often costly — illnesses early on.

Between the penalty for not having health insurance paired with the risk of notoriously high unexpected medical expenses, not having coverage puts you and your family at more of a financial disadvantage than signing up for health insurance ever could. Make sure you don’t go without coverage to protect your health and your financial future too.
