Homeowner's & Renter's Eye Opener Scenario:

What if (God forbid) your residence burnt to the ground? How would you provide the proper information about ALL the personal property you have coverage for? Here is the answer:

1. Keep your receipts. (email your receipts from now on, super easy and great for all documentation purposes)
2. Have pictures/video of your belongings. (Take a 20 minute walk thru your residence and get a video of your belongings. This will help your memory in a time of stress. Serial numbers on all electronics are a plus.
3. Valuables need to be appraised and electronically saved.

I would bet that the cost in floaties would have been equivalent to the annual cost of the proper coverage on the insurance policy...should have just given me a call.
