Today is Juneteenth. Early celebrations of this holiday date back to 1865, the year in which the Thirteenth Amendment was proposed by congress, which resulted in the end of American slavery. When you’re at the forefront of running a successful business, it can feel like you have no days off. Responsibilities can often be left by the wayside in favor of more urgent tasks, and overworking yourself is a real threat when you’re highly committed to success.

That mentality will take you far, but it might also lead to burnout. It’s extremely important to remember that you’re a person, not a robot: time off, holidays, rest days, and general time to mentally reset and rest are crucial to successful business ownership.

It’s all too easy to get shipwrecked amongst the sea of financial noise and advice all over TV and the internet nowadays. The number of influencers or television personalities telling you to do this, that, and the other thing is dizzying.

As a result, it’s more important than ever to have a set of core values that you stick to no matter what.

You don’t make it to the point that someone like you does without sticking to what matters most to you, but it’s always important to keep your most important ideals and goals in mind at each juncture. When your values are clear, financial decisions become second nature, and that doesn’t change just because the number in your account is higher than it used to be.

Does recent market volatility have you worried about the security of your portfolio? It’s no surprise that many people feel the same in the wake of a rather tumultuous 2025, but there’s no reason to panic.

Navigating the seas of the markets, as the ups and downs run their course, can feel unsure and even scary, but most bear markets level out in the long term, and your investment strategy should account for some volatility.

The key is to surround yourself with a team of advisors who reminds you of this truth and your long-term goals, rather than feeding the fear or reactivity we see all day online.

If you are off track from your goals, it may be time to make a change in your strategy. But, if this is just a small course correction, don’t let it derail your consistency.
