What a week in our neighborhood. We are forever grateful to all firefighters, emergency personnel, Avista, and police who literally saved our houses (when possible) and kept us safe. Also, a heartfelt thank you to my dear friends and neighbors who stepped up with offers to help and support my family during the evacuation.
This was a devasting fire for a lot of people in my neighborhood. Sometimes people say to me "insurance agents don't really do anything except want to sell you stuff and collect money" Well after 45 years in insurance I can tell you I AM HERE, living in your neighborhood, helping my friends, family, neighbors and strangers navigate their total loss houses, cars, retardant covered homes, evacuation and every question in between. I am 100% involved in helping people thru their claims, which is my background. But most importantly, I am here to say the emotions are real, the heart racing fear and anxiety are real. And lastly the question of "what now " is real.
Please reach out to me if you have questions- I spent 15 years handling claims before becoming an agent. Whether or not you are insured here in my office or are a friend or stranger I will try to answer your questions about "what now". And what the road to recovery looks like.
Recovery and rebuilding will come. And, This too shall pass. Stay safe and may GOD BLESS us all.
BTW- my son, Drew Clausen, also a State Farm agent in Spokane donated money to JOLTZ coffee drive thru on Argonne for any emergency personal who needs a well-deserved coffee.
