Last year, something close to home inspired an idea: what if we could help make cancer treatment a little more comfortable for patients?

That idea led to the creation of the Millville Insurance Chemo Shirt Fund. With the generosity of our agents, friends, policyholders, and community, we were able to turn that idea into something meaningful for patients receiving cancer treatment.

The fund helps provide specially designed infusion shirts that allow easier access to ports during treatment, helping patients feel a little more comfortable during an already difficult time.

🍂Fall Home Maintenance: Outdoor Prep for the Season Ahead

Fall is officially here, even if the temperatures don’t quite feel like it yet! ☀️

These warmer fall days are a great opportunity to tackle a few outdoor maintenance tasks before colder weather arrives. Taking a few simple steps now can help prevent costly repairs later.

Here are four things to add to your fall to-do list:

1. Inspect Your Roof (Safely from the Ground)
Skip the ladder! Grab a pair of binoculars to check your roof for loose shingles, damaged flashing, or debris buildup. Look for overhanging branches that could cause damage during winter weather.

2. Clear Your Gutters
As the leaves begin to fall, check your gutters for buildup and make sure downspouts are clear and directing water away from your home’s foundation.

3. Prep Your Lawn & Yard
Give your grass a final autumn mow, tidy up leaves and debris, and store firewood away from your home’s siding to discourage pests from settling in.

4. Drain Outdoor Pipes & Hoses
Disconnect garden hoses, drain them, and store them for the season.

A lightbulb inside the refrigerator—that was the unexpected source of a potential electrical hazard in one Millville policyholder’s home.

When our lines went quiet for a short stretch this morning, our IT team sprang into action to do whatever high-tech magic IT people do—working their keyboards, rebooting systems and probably staring intently at some green, Matrix-style code.

Turns out, the fix was entirely out of their hands.

The official diagnosis: Woodpeckers had pecked a hole in the fiber enclosure on the utility pole. From what we hear, we weren’t the only ones affected. 🐦

Thanks to a quick-pivoting team, we continued serving our policyholders remotely. Meanwhile, our internet service provider worked quickly to repair the fiber—and, we assume, negotiate a peace treaty with the local wildlife.

Around here, we know that sometimes…things happen.

We’ve been back online for a few hours now and are ready to take on the rest of the week—with a newfound respect for the local woodpecker population. 😂
