When our lines went quiet for a short stretch this morning, our IT team sprang into action to do whatever high-tech magic IT people do—working their keyboards, rebooting systems and probably staring intently at some green, Matrix-style code.

Turns out, the fix was entirely out of their hands.

The official diagnosis: Woodpeckers had pecked a hole in the fiber enclosure on the utility pole. From what we hear, we weren’t the only ones affected. 🐦

Thanks to a quick-pivoting team, we continued serving our policyholders remotely. Meanwhile, our internet service provider worked quickly to repair the fiber—and, we assume, negotiate a peace treaty with the local wildlife.

Around here, we know that sometimes…things happen.

We’ve been back online for a few hours now and are ready to take on the rest of the week—with a newfound respect for the local woodpecker population. 😂
