Already taking Wegovy, Zepbound, or Foundayo? This one is specifically for you.
One of the most common questions I’m getting is: I’m already on one of these medications. Can I still use the GLP-1 Bridge?
The answer is yes, as long as you’re a Medicare Part D beneficiary and you meet the eligibility criteria.
Here’s the part that matters most.
The clinical criteria are based on where you were when you started the medication, not where you are today. So if you started Wegovy in 2023 with a BMI of 38 and your BMI is now 31, your doctor would confirm that you met the criteria when you started therapy. You would still qualify.
This is genuinely good news for people who have been paying full price for these medications for a long time.
What you need to do right now is talk to your prescribing doctor and give them a heads up that this program is coming. They’ll need to submit a prior authorization request once the program opens July 1. CMS releases the full process in June, so nothing to do on their end just yet.
But the earlier you have that conversation, the smoother July 1 is going to go.
DM me the word BRIDGE and I’ll send you the full breakdown. 👇
Are you currently paying out of pocket for one of these medications?
