For more information and to audition, go to www.mainspringtheatre.com. Mainspring Theatre is a theatre group with a co-op approach. It was organized around the goal of one central theme: parents working together to create a positive setting for their students to experience participation in dramatic musical theatre productions. Mainspring Theatre is open to any homeschooled student, grades 1 to 12.
Because each family has unique needs, we also offer two optional choices for siblings: a waiting room where parents can stay with their own children, and the multi-age “Hero Training Camp” which is a relaxed class setting. We are a Christian group, and this is the perspective you will encounter in our classes and programs. However, any homeschool family that abides by our Code of Conduct welcome to participate in theatre and the supporting classes. While Mainspring provides the structure, students and parents really comprise this program. We all desire a high-quality show and a low financial burden. In order to make this a reality, we need the willing and enthusiastic help of theatre families filling a variety of assistance roles, both during the school year of rehearsals, and at the final shows. Similarly, students are expected to work together as a group, encouraging one another, and helping with additional backstage jobs as needed. Mainspring Theater’s director, planning leadership, class teachers, and various stage managers all work on a volunteer basis. All class fees are non-refundable and go toward the actual costs of scripts, sets, class materials, and building use. Students will acquire costumes at their own expense. The Hero Training Camp class has its own fee. Final performances are always free. For more information, go to www.mainspringtheatre.com
