COMING HOME ISN’T THE SAME AS BEING PRESENT.
After a night shift, you may be home while your sleep, energy, focus, mood, and connection are still trying to catch up. Night work and occupational stress can influence recovery: but fatigue is not automatically a hormone issue.
Schedule, sleep quality or a sleep disorder, stress, medications, nutrition, glucose regulation, and other health conditions can all contribute. NIOSH/CDC and American Academy of Sleep Medicine guidance support a thoughtful, individualized approach.
A physician-reviewed baseline may include comprehensive history and appropriate labs, including A1C and: when clinically indicated: markers that help assess insulin resistance. An InBody 580 scan can add body-composition context, but hydration, timing, and interpretation can affect the reading; it does not replace clinical evaluation.
Men’s and women’s genetic testing should be targeted to the individual, family history, and clinical question: with counseling about limitations and implications. Testosterone therapy should only be considered after comprehensive bloodwork and physician review.
At Body Symmetry MD Boston, with our Marlborough Flagship and qualified telehealth options reaching 14 states where clinically appropriate, the goal is not to label fatigue. It is to understand the whole human asset and support recovery: so being home can feel more like being present.
