A lot of boat owners assume their homeowners policy will cover everything once the boat leaves the driveway. That is one of the biggest misconceptions we hear this time of year.

Water coming back up through a drain is treated very differently than a plumbing leak when it comes to insurance coverage.

When heavy rain hits Oklahoma and city systems get overloaded, that water can end up coming back through floor drains, sinks, or toilets. Standard homeowners policies do not automatically include coverage for that kind of damage.
