Ive been working on expanding my network here on LinkedIn. Ive also been working on doing some outreach.

I try to connect with every message I send. Some folks never respond. Some respond that they are not interested. Which is totally fine.

But some respond in a way that feels like they are just bursting at the seems to talk about what they are working on. In the past 2 weeks ive heard about:

New business ventures
New patents
New software ideas
New AI concepts
Incorporating old ideas, with new technology

But the biggest thing I have learned is you never know who you are going to meet. Dont be afraid to reach out. Be willing to listen. And you will learn something.

Hurricane Isaias isn't headed right us, but he sure is gonna cause some havoc this way. We are spending the day preparing to be involuntarily off-grid for the weekend 🙃 We will get back to making spreadsheets, figuring out your mystery $500 "apple pay" transactions, and strongly discouraging you from buying a G Wagon because "tiktok said you could write it off" after Isaias is through with us.

You repainted your bathroom (you did a great job by the way). But you had a gallon left in the can. It was expensive! You don't want to throw it away! You might find a use for it later, right?

Well now it's 5 years later. And that old bucket of paint is sitting in the corner of your garage. You pass it every time you park the car, cut the grass, or get the holiday decorations.

You don't even see the cans anymore. They have become a permanent fixture of the garage now.

Your financial statements have the same patterns. There are items living on your Balance Sheet that scream "I'll get to that one day".

Your Profit and Loss have items that you have seen so many times, that your eyes glaze over it every time you see it. Expenses that you pay for every month, that you probably don't even use anymore.

Sometimes it takes a fresh set of eyes to come and say, "Do you still need this can of paint that has one gallon of Salmon in it?"

We do a financial statement review with every single client that has onboarded with us. Every single time we find SOMETHING that has been overlooked for a period of time. Which is why we now offer that as a service. You have a bookkeeper already, cool. But there is always benefit to having a fresh set of eyes take a look.

It's really hard to describe our services. Truthfully, we are The Guy lol.
