Do you know what PMOS is? PMOS stands for polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, formerly known as polycystic O***y syndrome or PCOS. It’s a common but often misdiagnosed hormonal condition that affects millions of women.

PMOS is driven by the effects of androgen (a group of hormones in the body) and changes in how your body uses a hormone called insulin, which controls blood sugar. Talk to your doctor if you experience any of the symptoms in this graphic — they may be caused by PMOS.

Although the exact cause of PMOS is still unknown and there is currently no cure, there are ways to manage it.

Labor Day is a time to recognize the hard-working Americans who help keep our communities going.

As we celebrate their contributions, it’s also a reminder to make time for our health. Resting, recharging and caring for our physical and mental well-being can help us feel our best at work, at home and in our communities.

Here’s to the workers who keep our communities strong — and the well-being that keeps us going.

Our offices will be closed on Monday, September 7. We will open again on Tuesday, September 8.

During Healthy Aging Month, try adding one small change to your routine to support your health and independence as you age. And remember: Taking care of yourself makes all the difference in how you feel now and later.

One team. One community. One incredible day of service. ⛳🏆

Twenty-five Molina Healthcare of Utah employees spent a summer day outside the office and on the course, volunteering with Special Olympics Utah at the Utah Open Golf Tournament. Whether directing parking, supporting activities on the course or lending a hand wherever needed, our team loves to contribute to an event that helps make year-round opportunities possible for Special Olympics athletes.

Thank you to Special Olympics Utah for helping participants compete, build skills and grow their independence and for letting our team be part of this terrific event.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month, a time to recognize the role vaccines play in helping prevent certain diseases and support overall community health. At Molina Healthcare of Utah, we work with members, providers and community partners to connect individuals to the immunizations and resources that help them stay healthy and on their feet.

With measles cases in the United States at their highest levels in decades, staying up to date on recommended vaccines is one way families can help protect themselves and those around them. In Utah, proof of required immunizations or an approved exemption is needed for children to attend school, so now is a great time for families to review their child’s records and schedule any needed vaccines before classes begin.

Hear from Dr. Greenwood, chief medical officer at Molina Healthcare of Utah and a member of the Utah Scientific Vaccine Advisory Committee to learn more about immunizations and the vaccines children need to be prepared for the school year ahead.
