There’s something special about getting out of the office, learning together, and experiencing something new as a district. 🚗💗

Yesterday, August 25th, The James River District had an incredible day at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), getting an up-close look at the work that goes into making our roads safer. From testing vehicle safety features and learning more about road safety to watching a live crash test of a 2026 Volkswagen Jetta, we got to see the importance of protection from a whole new perspective.

In insurance, we talk every day about protecting people and what matters most to them. Experiences like this remind us of the bigger purpose behind what we do—and give us the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together along the way.

This was such a fun and memorable experience for our district, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to spend the day learning, laughing, and making memories together.

A great day, an even better team, and plenty of memories made.

we’ve been known as District 61 — but we felt it was time for our name to represent something more than a number. Something that felt like us.

We’re proud to officially introduce The James River District.

The name holds a special meaning for our district. The James River runs through the heart of Virginia, through Richmond and toward the Hampton Roads region and the coast — connecting the areas our district is proud to represent. In many ways, the river reflects who we are: different communities, cities, agents, and teams, all connected by something bigger.

That connection became the inspiration behind our new identity.

With our district spanning Richmond to Coastal Virginia, we created two versions of our new logo that celebrate the character of both regions while bringing them together under one name. Because while our communities may look a little different, we are all part of the same team, working toward the same purpose.

This rebrand is about more than changing a name or creating a new logo. It’s about giving our district an identity that feels personal, meaningful, and connected to the communities we call home.

District 61 will always be part of our story, but The James River District represents where we’re going next.
