Did you know this about annuities?

One of the most common things I hear is:

"I don’t want my money locked up."

That’s a very common misconception.

Many Fixed Indexed Annuities allow you to withdraw a portion of your account value each year without penalty — often around 10% annually, depending on the contract.

A few other things people are often surprised to learn:

• Your money is not directly invested in the stock market
• Your principal isn’t reduced by market losses
• Some contracts offer optional lifetime income features

Like any financial strategy, annuities aren’t right for everyone. But they are often misunderstood because most people only hear bits and pieces about them.

Understanding how different financial tools work is an important part of building a solid retirement plan.

Over the past year, many people have asked if I offer an online option for my Medicare classes.

Starting this month, I’ll be hosting live educational Medicare webinars every 2nd and 4th Wednesday.

These sessions will cover:

• Enrollment timing
• Supplement vs. Advantage comparisons
• Cost breakdowns
• 2026 updates
• Live Q&A

This is the same content I teach in local seminars — now available from home.

The first session is Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 PM (CST).

If you can’t attend that date, there will be another two weeks later.

Agent vs. Broker vs. Advisor vs. Financial Planner — What’s the Difference?

These titles get used interchangeably, but they don’t mean the same thing — and the differences matter.

Insurance Agent
Usually represents one insurance company (or a small group).
Options are limited to what that carrier offers.

Insurance Broker
Represents the client, not a single company.
Can compare plans across multiple carriers to focus on fit, not just price.

Advisor
A broad title — not a license.
What matters is how someone is licensed and how they’re paid.

Financial Planner
Focuses on long-term strategy: retirement income, taxes, and risk.
Some sell products. Some don’t. Some are fiduciaries. Some aren’t.

Here’s the key point most people miss:

Two people can use the same title and operate under very different rules.

That’s why it’s smart to ask who someone represents, how they’re compensated, and what they’re licensed to do.

Education first. Pressure never. We've got your six!

“Cash value life insurance is a scam.”
You’ve probably heard that before.

Here’s the reality: cash value isn’t a scam — badly designed policies are.

Cash value is simply money that builds inside a life insurance policy, tax-deferred, that can be accessed later for things like income, emergencies, or opportunities. When a policy is structured incorrectly, it can be expensive and disappointing. When it’s built properly, it can be a flexible planning tool.

This short video explains the difference — without hype or sales talk.

Saving for retirement is only half the battle.
What really matters is how you withdraw.

Market swings don’t hurt much when you’re still saving.
But once you’re retired and pulling income, volatility can drain a portfolio faster than most people expect.

That’s why retirement success isn’t about chasing returns —
it’s about having a withdrawal strategy that protects income, even in down markets.

This short video explains why that difference matters more than most people realize.

Most people don’t calculate life insurance — they guess.
Or worse, they’re still relying on the same policy terms they set years ago, without revisiting whether the coverage still fits their life today.

A common starting point is 10–12x your annual income, but that’s not a magic number — it’s a framework designed to help replace income, eliminate debt, and protect your family’s future.

The right amount depends on your goals, your obligations, and how long your loved ones would need financial support.

If you want clarity instead of assumptions, visit cover6financial.com or email me directly at [email protected].

One of the biggest Medicare mistakes I see is choosing between Medicare Advantage and Medigap without fully understanding the difference.

Here’s the reality 👇
• Advantage plans are run by private insurance companies
• Lower monthly premiums, but networks, copays, referrals — and plans change every year
• Medigap works with Original Medicare and gives you nationwide provider freedom
• Higher premium, fewer surprises

The part most people don’t hear:
If you start with an Advantage plan, switching to Medigap later may require medical underwriting — and that can limit your options.

That’s why getting this decision right from the beginning matters.

I host free, educational Medicare classes every week across North Texas — no sales pitch, just straight answers.

Most people don’t struggle in retirement because they didn’t save enough. They struggle because they didn’t plan correctly.

In this Intro to Retirement session, I break down:
• What makes a retirement plan actually work
• The four biggest roadblocks that derail retirees
• Why some people create predictable income — and others don’t

You’ve probably heard it before:
“Just buy term and invest the rest.”

That advice isn’t wrong — but it’s incomplete.

Term life insurance is simple and affordable. It’s designed to protect your family for a specific period of time. When the term ends, the coverage ends.

Permanent life insurance works differently. Policies like Whole Life or Indexed Universal Life don’t expire and can build cash value over time. For the right person, they can play a role in income protection, business planning, or legacy planning.

The truth?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer. The right type of life insurance depends on your goals, your timeline, and what you’re trying to protect.

This video breaks down the differences — clearly, without sales pressure.

Most people avoid life insurance because they think it’s about death.

It’s not.

Life insurance is about protecting the people you love, covering the “what ifs,” and making sure your family isn’t left scrambling if something happens to you.

In this first chapter, I explain why life insurance exists, the different types you’ll hear about, and how to think about coverage the right way — before you ever look at a policy.

More chapters coming.
