🦌 LIFE CHANGES… AND SOMETIMES A DEER CHANGES YOUR DRIVING PLANS! 🚗💥
It's that time of year again! 🍂 Fall in Virginia means cooler temperatures, changing leaves, and deer that apparently never learned to look both ways before crossing the road! October through December is peak deer activity season, so here are a few tips to help avoid an unexpected encounter:
🦌 Watch for deer at dawn and dusk. They're most active when visibility is limited.
🚗 Slow down in wooded areas. Especially where deer crossing signs are posted.
👀 See one deer? Expect more! Deer often travel in groups.
💡 Use your high beams when appropriate. They can help you spot deer sooner.
⚠️ Don't swerve! Brake firmly and stay in your lane. Swerving can lead to a much more serious accident.
💡 INSURANCE TIP: Hitting a deer is typically covered under the comprehensive portion of your auto insurance, not collision. Your deductible will generally apply.
