Happy 4th of July! Did you know more pets go missing around Independence Day than any other time of the year? Help your customers keep their pets safe by sharing these July 4th pet safety tips on your social media channels. We've also provided a ready-to-use holiday image to make posting easy. Deter counter surfing: Store food out of reach and be mindful of which holiday foods and treats pets can safely enjoy.
Offer a quiet retreat: Fireworks can be stressful for pets. Creating a calm safe space away from doors, windows and loud noises can help reduce anxiety.
Ensure ID tags are up to date: Frightened pets are more likely to escape during fireworks displays, so it's a good time to double-check collars and identification information.
Be Ready When the Fireworks Start
Noise phobia makes Independence Day scary for many pets. Our pets’ ears are sensitive, which means loud noises—including fireworks, thunderstorms, trash trucks and even the vacuum cleaner—can cause some pets intense alarm and stress.

Signs of noise anxiety may include:
Shaking,cowering or hiding
Restlessness
Destructive behavior
Excessive panting or vocalizing more than usual
Refusal to go outside
Taking a few simple precautions before the celebrations begin can help pets stay safe and comfortable throughout the holiday.
