I had a conversation yesterday with someone who bought their last home many years ago.

Their biggest concern wasn’t the payment.
It wasn’t rates.
It wasn’t even qualifying.

It was this:

“How does anybody make a decision this fast?”

And honestly? Fair question.

The market today feels very different if your last home search involved leisurely weekend showings and a few weeks to think things over.

Here’s the advice I gave:

If a house truly checks the boxes for how you want to live, where you want to be, and what you want the next chapter to look like… don’t lose it over a few thousand dollars because of fear.

Not saying throw money around. That’s dumb.

But I see people miss homes they loved over small differences, then spend another year waiting while prices keep moving and life stays on hold.

Sometimes the bigger regret isn’t paying a little more.

It’s missing the house.

I’m curious. For those who’ve bought homes over the years:
