Items such as old financial statements, check registers, receipts, medical bills, and any paperwork containing your name, address, Social Security number, or credit and debit card information should be properly shredded.

The best part? No prep required. You don’t need to remove paper clips, staples, or binder clips. Just bring your documents and watch them be securely shredded on-site — completely free.

That's a wrap a sweet event of the summer! 🍦

Last week, our Financial Development Center team was at the Family Partnership Center in Poughkeepsie, NY to do what we love most, show up for our community! We served up free ice cream to the incredible kids and hardworking staff who make that space so special every single day.

Seeing those smiles, sharing those moments, and being welcomed into such a beautiful community space reminded us exactly why we do this work.

Thank you to the Family Partnership Center, Eden Share, CPCA, Poughkeepsie Children's Cabinet, Hudson Valley Renegades, Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum, & Poughkeepsie Public Library for joining us and being part of this event, and thank you to every single person who stopped by for a scoop. Join us on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Rykowski Branch for our Technology Shred Day. Members may bring up to three devices to be securely destroyed and recycled.

If you have old technology taking up space at home, this is a great opportunity to safely dispose of it. Bring electronics such as iPads, laptops, desktops, and other devices that may store personal information.

We’ve partnered with Legal Shred to ensure your devices are destroyed securely and recycled responsibly. This provides peace of mind that your personal information is protected while also supporting environmentally responsible disposal.

Legal Shred is NAID AAA Certified (National Association for Information Destruction), which means their processes meet the highest industry standards for secure information destruction.
