Meet Sana C., Founder of Unashamed, Inc.

For Sana, giving back is deeply personal. Drawing from her own experiences in foster care and becoming a mother as a teenager, she founded Unashamed to help young people facing challenges like those she once faced herself.

Today, Unashamed supports foster youth and young adults as they prepare for adulthood, and Sana is working toward an even bigger goal: launching Rooted by Unashamed, a transitional housing program designed to give young people a safe place to live while building the skills, confidence, and resources they need to become independent.

We’re proud to highlight Sana, her story, and the incredible work she’s doing in our community.

Silence Doesn’t Help. Support Does.

Sometimes we don’t know what to say. We worry about saying the wrong thing, or assume someone else is better equipped to help. But support can start simply by listening, learning and making sure someone knows they don’t have to navigate what comes next alone.

At Ellafi, empowering women+ means using our voice to raise awareness, support the organizations doing this important work and help connect our community with resources when they’re needed.

This month, we encourage everyone to listen, learn and stand with survivors. Survivors deserve to be heard. Survivors deserve support. Survivors deserve safety.
