I've been on a health journey this year and still very new to going to the gym.
My family wasn't athletic and my interest was in music.
(side note, my husband was also into music and we joke that our worst nightmare is that our two boys will land in sports)
But this last weekend, I leveled up in my bootcamp class, moving from 15 lb weights to 25 lb weights and I was so proud of myself.
My bootcamp instructor often tells us to "work towards failure."
As a recovering perfectionist, I've really liked that motto.
The gym has been a place where I can safely practice failing. It's been a place where I am truly a learner and all hubris is out the window because I know NOTHING about exercise or sports or anything.
And it has been a place where I show up for myself, just myself every time I go.
I'm learning to value me and I'm learning to value the time it takes to be good at something. AND that the journey is never done. I'll never be so healthy that I get to stop being healthy.
Building a business isn't so unlike this. I show up every day for me. And the building is never done!
I'm learning how to fail regularly because there's no success in building a business without hundreds of failures and failed attempts.
I'm learning that failure doesn't mean that I can give it. It means I can get back up again. In fact, I should be working so hard failure is inevitable because success is on the other side.
What have you failed at recently?
