One of my favorite parts of what I do is getting to know the people who walk through my door. We talk about Medicare, but we usually end up talking about family, life, and everything in between. 😊

I’m so thankful I get to do what I love right here in our little community. And I’m even more thankful for the wonderful people I meet along the way.

I just love our community! ❤️

I bought a shelf on Facebook Marketplace today to store my Medicare enrollment books at the office. It wouldn’t fit in my car, so I asked if they could deliver it, and they were kind enough to do so.

When they got here, I found out the shelf had belonged to one of my Medicare clients who recently passed away. His son and daughter-in-law were the ones delivering it!

I had absolutely no idea until they arrived!

What a small world!!❤️

Now that shelf will sit in my office and hold enrollment books for the people I help every day.

I say it all the time, but I really do love what I do and the people I get to meet along the way. And moments like this are just another reason I’m so happy to have my business right here in Middlebury.

I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else! ❤️

💵 I’ve received several calls today about the $90 Medicare payment, so I wanted to share a quick update!

Yes, it’s real! 😊

Some people with Original Medicare will be receiving a one-time $90 payment this month. If you have a Medicare Supplement along with Original Medicare, you may be one of them.

If you’re eligible, there’s nothing you need to do. Most payments are expected to be deposited automatically around October 8. If you don’t receive your benefits by direct deposit, a check will be mailed.

Just a reminder, this does not apply to everyone on Medicare. People enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan are not eligible, and there are a few other situations that can affect eligibility.

I know there’s been a lot of information floating around about this, which is probably why my phone has been ringing off of the hook today! 😂

As always, if you’re one of my clients and you’re unsure about something you receive or hear regarding Medicare, please call me. I would much rather you ask than worry about it or wonder if it’s legitimate. ❤️

October is here, and Medicare review season is officially underway! 🍂

Yesterday was a full day of helping both new and current clients prepare for 2027, and we’re already seeing firsthand just how important it is to review your coverage this year.

There are some significant changes coming to Medicare plans in our area for 2027. Plans are changing, provider networks are changing, and what worked well for you this year may not necessarily be your best fit next year.

That’s why we take the time to look at the whole picture: your doctors, prescriptions, preferred pharmacies and what matters most to YOU.

Big news for Goshen! 💚

You may have noticed a new name popping up this morning: Parkview Goshen Hospital.

As Goshen Health transitions to Parkview, we know many local Medicare beneficiaries will have questions about what this means for their doctors, hospital coverage and Medicare Advantage plan networks.

And the timing couldn’t be more important with the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period beginning October 15.

If you use Goshen Health providers, this is something we’ll be paying very close attention to when reviewing your 2027 Medicare coverage.

Jenelle and I are staying on top of the network changes so our clients don’t have to sort through all of this alone.

📣 2027 Medicare numbers are out for Indiana!

CMS just released its 2027 Medicare Advantage and Part D landscape, and there are some changes worth knowing before Annual Enrollment begins.

Here’s what Indiana Medicare beneficiaries will see for 2027:

🔹 140 Medicare Advantage plans will be available across Indiana, up from 127 in 2026.

🔹 Every Indiana Medicare beneficiary will continue to have access to at least one $0-premium Medicare Advantage plan.

🔹 The average Medicare Advantage premium in Indiana is decreasing from $13.22 to $9.27 per month.

🔹 Stand-alone Part D choices are shrinking from 10 plans to 8 plans statewide.

🔹 The standard Part D deductible can be as high as $700 in 2027.

But remember: 140 plans statewide does NOT mean 140 plans are available in your county. Medicare Advantage plans, provider networks, prescription coverage and benefits can vary significantly depending on where you live.

That’s why we review plans based on your doctors, your prescriptions, your pharmacy and your county, not just the premium.

Annual Enrollment begins October 15, and we’re already preparing for a very busy season!

One of my clients called me today, completely shaken up.

She’s 84 years old and received a phone call from someone claiming her insurance had been canceled. The caller told her she needed to provide her Social Security number and banking information so he could “fix” the problem.

He talked fast. He confused her. And he scared her.

Thankfully, she didn’t give him any information. She hung up and called me instead.

Please remember: legitimate insurance companies, Medicare, Social Security, and your bank are not going to call you out of the blue asking for your Social Security number, bank account information, or Medicare number.

If you receive a call that doesn’t feel right, hang up and call someone you trust.

Scammers count on confusion and fear. Don’t let them rush you.

And if you’re one of my clients, call me. I’d much rather answer a question than have you become a victim of fraud.
