🌧️ **NOR’EASTER THIS WEEKEND — ARE YOU PREPARED?** 🌬️

A long-duration “hybrid” Nor’easter is expected to impact Connecticut this weekend, with the potential for **heavy rain, strong winds, coastal flooding, and power outages.**

Current forecasts are calling for approximately **2–3.5 inches of rain from Friday night through Monday**, with wind gusts of **45–55 mph**. Depending on where the heaviest rain bands develop, the worst-case scenario could bring **50–65 mph winds and up to 7 inches of rain.**

🌊 **If you live in a low-lying or flood-prone area:**
• Move vehicles and valuables to higher ground if possible.
• Secure outdoor furniture, decorations, and other loose items.
• Avoid driving through flooded roads — **Turn Around, Don’t Drown.**
• If flooding or storm damage occurs, take photos/videos when it is safe to do so.

⚡ **Power outages:**
Report outages to Eversource at **1-800-286-2000** or through their outage reporting system.

🚨 **IMPORTANT:** If you see a downed power line, **assume it is live, stay away, and call 911.**

Be safe and stay off roads on Sunday

Have you been to the grocery store today? The calm before the storm, is anything but calm. We’ve even received reports about people’s pets heads falling off! Because Connecticut will pretend winter is a brand-new experience, we’ve decided to add extra officers and dispatchers for Sunday and Monday, to assist everyone who decided they need to go grab a new air fryer during the height of the storm.

Reminder: stay home if you can. If you must go out, slow down, leave extra stopping distance, clear all snow and ice from your vehicle, and 4WD does not mean 4-wheel stop. Let’s survive Winter 101.

When it’s snowing, please drive like it’s snowing. Because it is.
