The month of June flew by with so much activity, a few members did presentations and they were never posted! We are active as ever, so for the month of June 2022 let us introduce the speakers we had:
June 8th, Mellyssa Coutinho - Loan Consultant, NMLS #1622749 of loanDepot discussed the current mortgage market and all the negative noise that makes it confusing for buyers wondering if now is a good time to get a loan. June 15th, Kirsten Larner Real Estate Attorney of Winslow & Associates discussed how thoroughly she keeps her folders organized so she can remain on point with every single client. Buyers and sellers need a closing attorney in Massachusetts and she absolutely sets the bar as to how attorneys should be treating their clients and referral partners.

June 22nd, Bryan Berry of Business Advisor of Schooley Mitchell discussed how he runs analysis of business expenses to see what vendors are in his line-up that can save his clients thousands of dollars. Often people get signed up with vendors and forget to check and compare pricing of their every day expenses because they are focusing on bringing in business. Worth having a talk to see how he can help you trim the fat off your costs!

June 29th, Kathryn Martin Estate Law Attorney with Schlossberg, LLC discussed the importance of ensuring proper planning of assets, estates, succession plans, trusts and staying out of probate. She is involved deeply in her clients' lives and listens to their needs and customizes their estate plan with them.

Come out and challenge me to a joust or a race on Saturday!!!

Weather is looking amazing for a day outside with adult and kids obstacle courses on Saturday!

This is a registration card with info on how to challenge a competitor to a friendly joust, or obstacle course race.

I will dress appropriately so if I can get a break from my table handing out VA loan literature and someone challenges me to a face-off, I will absolutely take them up on it, because frankly it just looks crazy fun! (PLEASE take pictures and humiliate me on TikTok or IG after, especially if I end up face-planting). 🤣

One of the latest feature presentations our group enjoyed was from Chris Nasiff of Complete Payroll Solutions.

So many business owners set up payroll quickly at first with a big name company, just to get in compliance, but then don't research options for other pricing and resources offered because they are on to the next thing to tackle in the business. Once settled in, revisiting a payroll company may surprise people with available cost savings and additional HR information and resources!

Keith Garte gave his featured presentation last week and Keith works at RogersGray, an insurance company on the southcoast of Massachusetts for over 100 years. Keith provides insurance solutions for businesses small and large, and investment properties.

During this presentation he was stressing the importance of cyber security and gave us stats that were a little mind-blowing! How many small and mid-size businesses are targeted for attacks, and how easy it is to add a cyber rider to their policy. The cost of an attack isn't just the disabling of their business until their network is back, it's the damage control of all their private client database. All their own personal and banking info. The cost of not being insured is substantially more crippling and the percent of small businesses hit by hackers is surprising. It can happen to anyone.

Recently we were addressed by David Sullo of New York Life, during his feature presentation we enjoyed a fun game of Jeo-parady. He picked some great Q&A topics for us to guess and of course we got some right, we got some wrong, but he explained the insurance lingo for us so would could come away from it understanding more!

Term life, whole life, universal life - all important and advantageous life insurance solutions that everyone should consider for themselves whether a "worst case" scenario, or even as a retirement savings opportunity when the funds turn into equity positions down the line.

Who has this much fun while presenting their business, standing up in front of 15+ people? We do!! Look at the smiles on Jordan Walsh's face as she gives us terrific information about her line of work as a business Attorney.

Delving into the importance of every business having an end-game or a plan in place for when the owner is ready to wrap it up some day can be just as important as the paperwork involved to get it started. Who does the company book of business go to? How is it dissolved? Was it set up as C-corp, S-corp or LLC?

This was one of our best presentations of the year! Always exciting to have a furry friend assisting with a demonstration.

Last Wednesday (we are a little late posting here), it was our member Shiarn Lemon, dog trainer of Maynard Dog Training Solutions up for the speaker of the week rotation and she will be a hard presentation to top.

Elaborating on the tricks and drills that families can use to get their riled little pups to settle down, we enjoyed the show! We highly recommend Shiarn for any dog owner that needs a little help with their unique situations.

This week at our meeting, our chapter was hooked by the riveting adventures of this incredible Marine who toured overseas during his time in the service. We appreciate him sharing so much about his background and what shaped him into the man he is today. Well done Chris Maynard and thank you for your service!

In fact, Chris is hosting a workshop for small business owners to go through some very helpful successful building blocks to starting and keeping a business running. Come to the Fireside Grille on May 11th from 10am-1pm!

Chris serves his clients now through business coaching. His company name is iMind, which is fitting as he does mind. He minds a lot that fellow business owners can achieve their dreams too. So come pick his brain and join us for a great day with Chris!
