😂 Everyone seems to know someone who “knows insurance.”

Your sister’s friend’s second cousin’s husband’s neighbor said you’re covered? Cool… but maybe ask your insurance agent. 😂

Insurance can be confusing, and advice from friends, Facebook groups, or “someone who had the same thing” isn’t always accurate. Every policy, carrier, and situation can be different.

I’ve spent nearly two decades in the insurance industry, and a big part of what I do is help my clients actually understand what they’re buying—not just hand them a policy and send them on their way.

Have a question? Ask me. I’d much rather you call, text, or email and double-check than find out after a claim that something didn’t work the way you thought it did.

Insurance is one of those things you pay for and hope you never have to use.

It can feel like an unnecessary expense… right up until the unthinkable happens.

Over the weekend, a horse broke out of her paddock and somehow got ahold of a glass bottle of molasses. She ate almost the entire thing — glass and all.

It was a complete accident. One of those situations you would never think to plan for, and exactly the kind of emergency no horse owner ever wants to face.

But I can tell you one thing — her owner was VERY thankful she had insurance.

When something happens to our horses, the last thing we want is for the first question to be, “Can I afford to do what she needs?”

Insurance can’t prevent the scary moments. But it can make sure you have options when they happen. ❤️🐴

Because with horses, sometimes the things we never imagined are exactly the things they manage to do.

Someone asked me recently what my elevator speech was.

“Why should someone choose The Rustic Brokerage?”

I froze.

Not because I don’t know insurance. I’ve spent over 15 years learning this industry, helping clients navigate risk, and protecting what matters most.

I froze because I wasn’t giving myself enough credit.

At first, I thought the answer was my experience, the insurance companies I represent, or the coverages I recommend.

Then I realized… that’s not the real answer.

Insurance is what I do. Relationships are why I do it.

I want my clients to know they have someone they can call with questions, someone who will take the time to explain things, someone who wants to understand what they’re building and help protect it.

When things go wrong, I don’t want you wondering who to call. I want you to know I’m already in your corner.

At the end of the day, you’re not just choosing an insurance agency. You’re choosing the person who’s going to be there through the questions, the changes, the celebrations, and sometimes even the claims.

I guess that’s my elevator speech.
