Edward Jones- Financial Advisor: Kayla Buckmaster I believe that wealth should create space. Space to breathe, to reflect, to give, and to live in a way that honors what matters most.

Wealth Considerations for Busy Corporate Executives & Charitable Givers | Helping Leaders & Philanthropists Simplify Wealth, Protect Their Time, and Align Finances With Purpose

True wealth is not in the amount of money we possess, but in the freedom we have to live a life aligned with our values, passions, and purpose. Many corporate leaders and generous philanthropists already know how to achieve success, but what they often lack is the time and clarity to enjoy it, direct it with intention, and allow it to support a meaningful life. My work focuses on helping people who are driven, busy, and devoted to something larger than themselves. I help simplify what feels complicated, remove the noise that gets in the way, and bring a sense of calm and organization to the financial decisions that shape your future. This creates an experience that is not only strategic but also deeply grounded in confidence and alignment. At Edward Jones, I am supported by a firm that believes financial guidance should feel personal, collaborative, and centered around your goals. With a wide range of planning resources, strong relationships with tax and legal professionals, and support for both personal and employer sponsored retirement plans, we work together to bring clarity and intention to every part of your financial world. Even as the financial landscape grows more complex, you do not have to navigate it alone. You deserve guidance that protects your time while strengthening your sense of direction and purpose. I also help clients think deeply about the legacy they want to create, ensuring that their wealth supports not only their own lives but also the people, causes, and future generations they wish to impact. My goal is to ensure that your wealth reflects your values, empowers your generosity, and supports a life lived with meaning. When your financial life is aligned with the things you care about most, the path forward becomes clearer, and the freedom to live with purpose becomes possible.

I enjoyed reading this recent Kiplinger article featuring our Head of Wealth Management and Field Management, David Chubak. One point that stood out to me is how many families are balancing long-term goals with desire to support loved ones today.

It’s something that often comes up in conversations with clients, whether it’s helping adult children with housing expenses, student debt or other financial challenges. As David notes, "The reality is we live in an age of financial uncertainty and anxiety like no other." Having open conversations and a thoughtful plan can help families navigate those decisions with greater confidence.

What financial lesson or value do you hope to pass along to the next generation?

Passing down the wealth you've built over a lifetime, with wisdom and grace, is good. Passing on your values along with the money? Even better.

As the third quarter comes to an end, three numbers are moving markets — $100 oil, a 5% yield on the 10-year Treasury, and 35% earnings growth. Two are headwinds, and one is the reason the market hasn’t buckled. Senior Global Investment Strategist Angelo Kourkafas breaks down each number and what it means for your portfolio.

Looking forward to spending some time at the La Porte County Business Expo today!

One of the things I've come to appreciate most in my career is getting to know the people behind local businesses. Every owner has a different story, a different set of challenges, and a different vision for what they're building for their family, employees, and community.

Through my work as a Financial Advisor, and through my involvement on the Michigan City Chamber Board, I've seen firsthand how much local business owners do to keep our communities moving forward. I'm always grateful for opportunities to listen, learn, and support the people who invest so much of themselves into their businesses.

If you're attending the Expo, I'd love to say hello.
