Need Hurricane Idalia Property Claim Help! Our company have heard lots of stories and seen lots of people who have been taken advantage of. We wanted to take a few minutes and provide some important tips and information for homeowners as you navigate the insurance and claims process and point out some of the benefits of using a public adjuster.
1. The insurance company has their own claims adjuster. It is imperative that homeowners retain a Public Adjuster to represent their interests.
2. Most people think that if they already submitted a claim that it is too late to hire a public adjuster. That is false! It is strongly advised that homeowners have a claims expert, such as a public adjuster, review the initial payment from the insurance company to ensure that you have been paid out the maximum amount you are owed. If it is determined that you were underpaid, we can handle the process of getting you the additional funds you are owed.
3. We have seen some contractors in the area that do not have the homeowners best interest in mind when coming to assess damage. They are not licensed public adjusters and sometimes lack experience in handling the full scope of the claims process. A Public Adjuster wants to get you the maximum amount possible for the entire claim, whereas a contractor often only focuses on their area of the claim.
4. There has been a lot of confusion on how Public djusters get paid. We do not get paid unless the homeowner gets paid. The fee is 10% for hurricane related claims on the amount that is recovered by us. For example, if you have already been issued a payment, our fees only apply to the additional amount we recover for you. We are happy to provide complimentary inspections and reviews of the homeowners insurance policy.
