Hurricane Milton is a major storm and is expected to cause major damage and impact lives on the west coast of Florida, near Tampa.

With a storm surge forecasted to be up to 15’, we urge all residents to stay safe, and if possible evacuate. Nothing is more valuable than your life. Please take this storm seriously.

Before the storm, take the time to shoot video of what your property looks like before the storm. This video will help to not only show your insurance company what condition your property was in prior to the storm, but it will also help in identifying the contents of your home in the event of a catastrophic loss.

Damaging report on 60 minutes last night about how insurance companies have been wronging insureds on their claims. I’ve been saying it for years, the adjuster that goes to your home isn’t the bad guy. The desk adjusters, who receive the reports are. They butcher these reports and, per the 60 minutes report, lower estimates on properties they have never visited, by up to 98%! The worst part is that they have the full support of Florida Governor and Florida CFO who instead of protecting your rights, they tell you to not get representation and instead, file the claim on your own. All in an effort to protect their friends at the insurance companies. This fraud doesn’t end at the insurance companies… it goes all the way to the governor’s mansion! The bottom line is this… hire a public adjuster or an attorney. They are the only ones fighting for your rights.

Per chances of development for the system lurking just east of the Lesser Antilles have improved to 40% within 7 days. They went on to state that it’s way too soon to speculate if this system would impact the U.S. directly if it develops, but we’re also cautious in their mentioning that “it would be one to watch though, as there is no clear path out to sea as of the latest data”.

We’re in the high point of the Atlantic Hurricane season, and as always, we will continue to monitor all storms, and keep you up to date.

In the event of a storm, we urge you to first and foremost, stay safe, protect your loved ones and pets. After the storm, assess your damage, and DON’T FILE THAT CLAIM! SW Miami-Dade County residents near SW 8th Street and SW 137th Avenue dealt with heavy smoke on Sunday due to a massive brush fire. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue upgraded to a Third Alarm fire with about 26 units assisting the Florida Forest Service into the night as the flames continued to spread westward.

"It only takes a spark to start a fire." Unfortunately, our client got a first-hand glimpse of that saying. Their neighbor decided to start a bonfire in their backyard, and when the embers got caught in the wind, a fire quickly erupted throughout both yards and the smoke quickly filled the inside of our client's home. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and everyone was safe and sound. Upon arriving at our client's house, QCC quickly stepped into action! We reported the claim on the scene and had a mitigation company scheduled to start removing the soot from within the client's home as well as clean out their A/C system and air ducts.

A severe rain storm has been hitting Southern Florida from the Gulf all day. This storm is bringing with it the potential of flash floods and the capability of waterspouts; with an eventual possibility of a tornado.

"It's the end of the world as we know it!" That's what ran through this client's mind as a tornado ripped through their neighborhood and caused the palm tree to come crashing on their roof. Although an insurance claim is no laughing matter, it’s nice to have a chuckle at work every now and then. This client had a very nice linen(ish) print on their porcelain tile floor. Naturally, i@figured it was a waste of time when the insurance company reached out to make an appointment with a flooring expert. That waste of time turned into disbelief when the “expert” called and said he found a match. Well, that disbelief, morphed into comic relief when he brought out the match and laid it in the floor! This client tried dealing directly with their insurance company, and their claim was severely undervalued! The insurance company's response was that the damages were only $9,306.40 and did not suprass their $25,490.00 deductible. After contacting Quick Claims, not only were we able to show to the insurance company that the damages, in fact, did surpass the deductible; we were able to recover for the client $163,817.17 . That is almost 18 times the assessed value by the insurance company.
