"One of the most challenging parts of my work is meeting people who feel confused because they have spoken with multiple agents and received different information. Medicare is important, and it helps to feel confident in who you choose to guide you. Before working with anyone, take a moment to look them up, check their website or social media, and make sure their approach is focused on education rather than pressure.

My priority is to offer clarity, honesty, and support from the very first conversation.

Be cautious with unexpected calls offering “extra benefits” or “cash back.”
I recently spoke with someone who accepted an unsolicited call and was switched into a different plan than they expected. It caused confusion they weren’t prepared for.

Please remind your parents and grandparents to avoid sharing personal information with unknown callers and to double-check before making any Medicare changes.

If you ever feel unsure about a plan or want help understanding your options, I’m here to offer clear, educational guidance.

We’re seeing more people preparing for Medicare long before turning 65, often because they’re worried about penalties. If you’re still working and covered by an employer plan with 20 or more employees and the coverage is considered creditable, you can keep your employer insurance, enroll in Part A if you choose, and delay Part B without penalties. This gives you time to compare your employer plan with Medicare and choose what fits your health needs and budget.

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period ends December 7 — and there’s still time to review your options.

Here’s what a lot of people don’t realize about last-minute reviews:

1️⃣ You may notice differences in your 2026 benefits when you take a closer look.
2️⃣ It’s not too late to make sure your doctors, prescriptions, and costs still line up with your needs.
3️⃣ Even small adjustments can make a meaningful difference heading into next year.

You don’t have to rush — just review. A few minutes now can bring a lot more clarity and confidence.

If you’re turning 65 in January, now’s a great time to review your Medicare options. Many people wait until after the holidays and feel rushed — and in some cases, delaying enrollment can lead to gaps in coverage.
Taking a little time now helps ensure your coverage starts smoothly so you can enjoy the season stress-free.

Medicare can feel overwhelming — especially when someone is automatically enrolled after starting Social Security.

I recently spoke with someone who was frustrated about her Part B premium, not realizing she might qualify for a program that could help with those costs. Before we could go through the steps together, the stress almost made her want to cancel everything.

If you ever feel that way, remember: support programs do exist, and you don’t have to navigate any part of Medicare alone.

VA benefits offer strong support, but they mainly apply to care received within the VA system.

Enrolling in Medicare at 65 can give you added flexibility, including the ability to see doctors and hospitals outside the VA and to have coverage available if VA care is limited or unavailable at the time you need it.

Having both VA benefits and Medicare can help you stay protected in a wider range of situations.

Even with VA coverage, enrolling in Medicare Part B can give you added protection and flexibility.

VA benefits cover care at VA facilities, while Medicare helps with services outside the VA network. Having both ensures you’re covered wherever you go and protects you from potential gaps if your eligibility changes later.
