Nurses working at nearly two dozen Kaiser Permanente locations are planning to strike amid concern that the health system giant has not done enough to ease the burdens foisted upon them by the COVID-19 pandemic.

HMO’s have always gate kept their Insured’s abilities to access to specialists, with out referrals.

So what happpens when there aren’t any nurses, physicians or specialists to treat you within your network? Without the proper levels of staff the shortage is harmful to both patients and workers alike.

Kaiser Permanente posted a net loss of $4.5 billion in 2022, down from a net income of $8.1 billion in 2021, while its operating margin dipped to -1.3 percent.
