How to get free healthcare and avoid expensive lab bills during your annual physicals:

1/ Understand which tests are considered as preventive based on your s*x and age.
2/ Be clear with your Dr. that you are only there for a preventive annual check-up and everything should be coded as « preventive ».
3/ Ensure your Dr. sends your sample to a lab in the network covered by your insurance.

Lastly don’t forget to check your Explanation Of Benefits (EOB) after the visit!!

STRUGGLING WITH YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE?

UNDERSTAND THE AMERICAN RESCUE ACT IN 3 POINTS:

1/ Those who took out unemplyment for at least a week in 2021 will receive free coverage until the end of the year.

2/ If you lost your job and the health cover that was provided to you, COBRA will be free until September 31, 2021.

3/The 8.5% Static Rule means that Applicant must pay the first 8.5% of their income towards an Obamacare plan, the Goverment will sponsor the rest.

Ex: A 40 year-old male making $60,000/year must pay the first $425 towards his premium of $449/month- The Government will sponsor $24 as subsidy.
The plan used for this example is a Silver Florida Blue plan, with an HMO network, a $8,450 deductible before the insurance kicks in for most of the services, $145 for Primary care visit and full price for specialist visit.
*Alternative plans outside the marketplace, would cost for the same person $305/month including Dental and Vision, first dollar coverage (No deductible or co-insurance), PPO network with choice of the best service providers over the US, cash benefits in case of hospitalization...
