What do friendship, nature, and money have in common?

They all thrive with attention and presence. It seems simple, and it can be—if we practice both.

This week, I was in Jupiter, Florida visiting my lifelong friend Deb. We have been friends since we were 5 years old.

Deb and her husband lived in Asia for many years, but Deb and I never lost touch or our connection. When they moved to Jupiter about 13 years ago, I was overjoyed.

Deb and I both cherish our friendship, giving it attention and giving each other our presence. Our friendship thrives.

On Tuesday, Deb and I took a 3-hour “Untouched” pontoon boat tour with Captain Peggy on the Loxahatchee River in Jonathan Dickinson State Park.

For most of the tour, there were no other people on the river. We were present, aware, and felt so connected to nature. Deb and I both told Captain Peggy, “This is exactly what we needed.”

Sometimes the pace and chaos of this world can make you feel unsettled. Nature and friendship help bring you back to presence and peace.

So, can your attention and presence also help you with money matters? Yes, it can. I believe both are necessary, especially if you want to attain true wealth—which is about much more than the number in your bank account.

Friendship, nature, and money—let’s make them all thrive!

Recently, while having lunch with my videographers, Carlos and Viviana, we got into a philosophical conversation about life… and they kept the cameras rolling.

I believe we all have unlimited potential inside of us. Yet, many people fail to see their own spark, their own light — and by failing to see it, they do not act on it.

The world needs all of our light right now. On an individual, family, community, and global level, we need to raise the collective vibration.

Nature needs us to become more aware and attuned because the planet cannot keep giving while we keep taking.

And here’s the thing about money: when you operate at a high vibrational level, you can apply that spark inside to also improve your financial matters.

So, here’s to living in alignment — including financial alignment — and shining your light brightly. ✨

📌 If this message spoke to you, feel free to send it to someone who may need a little reminder of their own light today.

Micro-Endorphin Hits: That temporary high you get from spending money on an object or experience.

Often, this results in unbudgeted spending that causes regret and financial stress.

I think our money and the planet urgently need us to reframe this concept.

Many people have lost their connection to nature. We have a virtual world at our fingertips, yet we often miss or disregard the magical natural world.

The planet — and our own peace of mind — need this reconnection with nature. Nature is not a micro-endorphin hit; it brings long-lasting calm, joy, and wonder to our lives.

Nature is the air we breathe. Without trees, there would be no fresh air. Trees are home to a myriad of species. Have you ever observed a male and female cardinal build a nest for their babies? It is amazing, it costs nothing, and it will change you.

Let’s stop the distraction of impulse spending we cannot afford. It only provides a temporary high that doesn’t serve you. Let’s reconnect with the natural world — helping our hearts, minds, and wallets.

Take a moment today to step outside, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what truly brings peace.

Is Your Credit Card Paying You?

Every year, the benefits I receive from each of my credit cards far outweigh their annual fees.

That being said, if you don’t pay your credit card in full and on-time every month, I recommend you don’t have a credit card.

If you don’t follow the two rules above, the astronomical interest, late payment fees, potential damage to your credit score, and added stress to your life are not worth the convenience of having credit cards.

If you follow the two rules above and use your credit cards responsibly, ensure you gain more financial benefit from them than the annual fee costs.

Personally, I use a Visa card partnered with Marriott hotels and a Mastercard partnered with American Airlines. For my business expenses I use an American Express card also partnered with Marriott.

The Visa and American Express cards each give me one free night annually at a Marriott hotel, plus Marriott points for my stays and other purchases, and free room upgrades. The value of these rewards significantly exceeds the annual card costs.

The Mastercard gives me American Airlines mileage points and free checked luggage. Those two benefits alone exceed the annual fee.

Additionally, major credit cards also offer many other benefits. You can compare various credit cards side-by-side on NerdWallet.

The credit card companies bank on you not paying your monthly bill in full and on time.

If you budget, track your credit card spending, and use the card(s) responsibly as a tool; credit cards can work to your advantage. If you choose to do this, research and find a credit card that serves your needs.

📌 What benefits have you found most valuable from your credit card? Share them in the comments!

My son Will recently graduated with his Master’s Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. I am so proud of him.

Long before Will ever left for college, he was learning about money at home.

Before we send our kids off to college, or any other adventure they choose after leaving the parental nest, they must be financially capable.

I believe it is our job as parents to educate our children about money before the world does.

Leaving home at a young age without understanding how money works can cause financial problems that last for years.

At this young age, our kids can use time to begin creating wealth instead of debt.

Let’s do our kids a solid and teach them about money.

We often chase prosperity like it only exists somewhere ahead of us. That it exists mainly in financial success.

But real prosperity is also found in presence.

• Presence creates clarity.
• Presence strengthens relationships.
• Presence allows gratitude to grow.
• Presence brings joy to the here and now.

When we slow down and become fully present, we begin to recognize the richness that already exists in our lives. That awareness can shift not only our mindset but the way we experience life itself.

Take a moment today to pause, breathe, and appreciate what is already good in your life.

Stop living in the material world, because real wealth isn’t there.

If your possessions cost you peace…
If your overspending puts you in debt…
If you live above your means to keep up appearances…
If you work endlessly to buy more stuff…
There’s a disconnect.

Real wealth is choice.
Real wealth is time.
Real wealth is freedom.

Don’t be trapped in the material world; it is an illusion of wealth that will never satisfy and always asks for more.

What makes your life feel free?

📌 Take a moment today to reflect on what real wealth truly means to you and share this with someone who may need the reminder too.

Creating wealth is possible, even without a high-paying job. I call it the quiet and consistent method.

My three tips for creating wealth using this under-the-radar but very effective method are:

1. Start investing as early as possible because money grows over time, but regardless of your age, the best time to start is now. Automate your investments; this is key to consistency.

2. Monthly budgeting keeps you living within your means. Budgeting the amount you are investing is called paying yourself first. Make yourself and creating wealth a priority in your budget — even if initially the number you can invest is small.

3. Create and build an emergency fund. Emergencies will happen. If you are financially prepared, you can weather an emergency and continue to invest.

These simple steps work if you follow them. Creating wealth quietly and consistently — it’s how I did it.

📌 Start where you are and stay consistent, it will reduce money stress now and your future self will thank you.

Today is April 30th, the last day of Earth Month. I believe every day should be Earth Day, and I try my best to live that way.

When I am in my pollinator garden, I vividly see the myriad of connections between nature and money.

What you nurture grows. I hope you will nurture nature and your money.

Please enjoy the carousel below, (all photos were taken in my garden), and let nature beautifully teach you about money.
