What do friendship, nature, and money have in common?
They all thrive with attention and presence. It seems simple, and it can be—if we practice both.
This week, I was in Jupiter, Florida visiting my lifelong friend Deb. We have been friends since we were 5 years old.
Deb and her husband lived in Asia for many years, but Deb and I never lost touch or our connection. When they moved to Jupiter about 13 years ago, I was overjoyed.
Deb and I both cherish our friendship, giving it attention and giving each other our presence. Our friendship thrives.
On Tuesday, Deb and I took a 3-hour “Untouched” pontoon boat tour with Captain Peggy on the Loxahatchee River in Jonathan Dickinson State Park.
For most of the tour, there were no other people on the river. We were present, aware, and felt so connected to nature. Deb and I both told Captain Peggy, “This is exactly what we needed.”
Sometimes the pace and chaos of this world can make you feel unsettled. Nature and friendship help bring you back to presence and peace.
So, can your attention and presence also help you with money matters? Yes, it can. I believe both are necessary, especially if you want to attain true wealth—which is about much more than the number in your bank account.
Friendship, nature, and money—let’s make them all thrive!
