Paris-based startup C12 Quantum Electronics has just raised $10m to build quantum processors using carbon nanotubes (CNT). The funds come from 360 Capital Bpifrance Airbus Ventures, BNP Paribas Développement, and Octave Klaba.

A CNT wire is suspended above a silicon chip containing a series of parallel wires that act as control electrodes and as a communication bus. The C**s are composed of isotopically purified carbon-12 atoms with no carbon-14 so they have zero nuclear spin to minimize any qubit decoherence.

The money will be used to expand the workforce and establish a pilot production line, designed to include nanotube growth facilities, nano-assembly equipment, quantum measurement hardware, and more.

The startups' goal is to grow a range of quantum accelerators that are integrated into classical supercomputers and design application-specific processors in the following 5 years.

Quantum Delta NL has launched a €2 Million fund to boost the number of early-stage quantum startups in the Netherlands to 100.

The LightSpeed Fund 1 is part of Quantum Delta NL’s strategic roadmap to increase the number of successful in the Netherlands. Currently, there are seven quantum startups in the Netherlands, and Quantum Delta NL is on a mission to see this number increase to 100 by 2027.

The Delft-based startup Quantware is the first startup to receive funding as it starts shipping the industry’s first commercial quantum processor.

The Netherlands-based venture capital firm FORWARD.one has announced the launch of its second fun. With the €100M fund FORWARD.one plans to invest in startups that have developed the technologies of the future with the use of innovative high-tech hardware.

The firm’s first fund invested in companies that operate in the fields of robotics, quantum computing, sensoring, virtual and augmented reality, biomanufacturing and audio technology. The VC fund also reported that “several of these companies have the potential to conquer large international markets or unlock new ones.”

Since its foundation in 2017, FORWARD.one has reviewed more than a thousand companies, and its team claims to have learned about the opportunity offered by high tech in the Netherlands.
