Last month, River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition and Larry Labonte Recovery Center (LLRC) hosted art classes as part of Maine’s “See the Person, Not the Use” initiative. This community art project is using art to fight the stigma of substance use disorders and celebrate recovery.

As a partner of LLRC, we are happy to be showing the art pieces in our lobby this week. Artists range in age from elementary school students to older adults, and these photos are just a sampling of the talent on display.

Some of the art may be selected to represent our community at the Opioid Summit in Augusta next month. We hope you get a chance to enjoy the artists’ work while it is here!
