Today, a sweet elderly client of mine called me to thank me for a check. Earlier this year, she had fallen for the scam that so many of us hear about; someone called her on the phone and pretended to be someone that they weren’t, and they tricked her into wiring them $5,000. Her credit union figured out what was going on before she sent more, but she still lost that first $5,000. She is on a fixed income with no way to recoup that money.

Fortunately, the renter’s insurance policy that she had with my office included coverage for that very thing. When she went to her mailbox today, she found a check from Farm Bureau for $5,000. She was so relieved!

Today, we got to be a part of a really special fundraiser. Transform1 exists to stop child trafficking in the Dominican and today, they put on a 5k in Sterling Heights with Heritage Church. It was an honor and privilege to help them fundraise and to join in their 5k.
